I’m so glad you found your way to my website!
On this website, I will tell you a bit about my life with a missing left hand. I will focus mainly on strength training, as I see the most benefit for you here.
I’ve been training for about two years now, wanting to lose weight in the first year, and in the second year, I focused on hypertrophy (muscle growth). I was asked several times about my training with the prosthesis, be it in my personal environment or in the fitness center. I became aware of how great the interest in this topic was but also how little information is available for people like me. That is why I decided to report here about my experiences.
I’m anything but a professional and I’m still learning, but I can tell you about my beginnings and give you tips that might help you get started and avoid the mistakes I’ve made. My main goal is to motivate people with a handicap to do weight training or a sport in general in order to improve their mental and physical health. Of course, people without obvious handicaps are also welcome to get inspired to do sports again, because nobody is perfect in the real sense but you can try to get the best out of yourself.
With this in mind, have fun reading and hopefully also with lifting the irons!
